About Our Program

Pathways to Hope is designed to offer treatment to individuals who are addicted to Methamphetamine, Heroin, and/or Opioids. The Superior Police Department has partnered with the Lake Superior Community Health Center to provide next-day access to treatment options.

There are two ways to enter the Pathways to Hope Program

This option is for those who wish to receive treatment and have struggled either accessing treatment or lacking funding to afford it. Through this option, SPD makes treatment available to all Douglas County residents who want treatment, even if they cannot pay for it.

Criminal Diversion

Individuals who are arrested for an offense related to addiction meeting the remaining requirements would be eligible to enter the Pathways to Hope program to avoid spending time in jail. Upon successful completion of the program, charges stemming from the original arrest would be dropped.
